With over 6 years of the game under my belt, I can say right now is the most fun I’ve had with the game. ![]() I’ve been playing for an incredibly long time, installing the game during my freshman year of college. Riot has undeniably made the game a lot more fun for me as an individual. So why is League losing people, if a majority of the players are getting content designed for them? Hextech crafting offers players a reason to play numerous games, clubs generate a nice environment for groups of people to play the game they enjoy and chat together, and dynamic queue allows for you to experience the triumphs of advancing the ranked system with a lot of your friends at once. With the introduction of clubs, dynamic queue, and hextech crafting, it’s apparent that Riot is releasing content with the majority of players in mind. Lets start with the social environment this season. There have been several posts on Reddit noting this loss of player base, and while many people seem to have a couple of ideas as to why this is happening, I wanted to gather my thoughts on the subject. Recently with the release of Overwatch, a large portion of League players have switched to playing it. Right now is a very interesting time for me to examine the social atmosphere of this game, and from what I’ve seen people are really only scratching the surface of this shifting perspective of the players on a large scale.
